Hazelnut caramel/toffee deliciousness

I must say that I'm really proud of this particular recipe since I just improvised all the way thru and just kept adding things that I found in my kitchen. Is it to early to start with the christmasy treats? Personally I think so but I just couldn't stop myself!

What you need:
2dl sugar
2dl light syrup
1dl cream
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon cinnamon
100g dark chocolate
100g butter
200g hazelnuts

How you make them:
Step1: mix the sugar, cream and syrup together in a pot and let it melt together on medium heat.
Step2: when bubbles have started to form add the butter and stir until it has melted, then add the cocoa and cinnamon and make sure that there are no lumps in the mixture.
Step3: add the chocolate and just stir until it has all melted together.
Step4: let it boil for about another 5-10 minutes. You can dip a spoon into the mixture and run it under some cold water. It should be a bit tough to get it away with your teeth. That way you know when it's done.
Step5: put some baking paper in a pan. I chose one that was 7x20cm and that was perfect for this amount.
Step6: pour half of the mixture into the pan and then cover the top with hazelnuts.
Step7: Put the pan in the freezer for about ten minutes, leave the rest of the mixture on the stove on low heat so that it doesn't start to set.
Step8: Take it out of the freezer and pour the rest of the mixture on top of the hazelnuts. Put it back into the freezer until it has hardened and then cut it into pieces.
