These mocha squares are very easy to make and it only takes about an
hour including baking time!
For the cake: For the topping:
150g butter 75g butter
1.5 dl milk 0.75 dl coffee
3 eggs 0.5 dl cocoa
2.5 dl sugar 1.5 tablespoon vanilla sugar
0.75 dl cocoa 5 dl confectioners sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder coconut flakes
4 dl flour
How you make the cake:
Step1: Preheat your oven to 175 degrees Celsius.
Step2: Melt the butter, add the milk and let it cool.
Step3:whisk the eggs and sugar together till the mixture gets fluffy.
Step4: In a separate bowl mix the dry ingredients together (cocoa, baking powder, flour).
Step5: Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture about one dl at a time.
Step6: Add the butter mixture and combine everything until smooth.
Step7: Put some baking paper in a pan that is about 30x40cm, pour the batter into the pan and spread it out so that it is an even layer.
Step8: Bake for about 20 minutes and then set it aside to let it cool.
How you make the topping:
Step1: Melt the butter.
Step2: Add the coffee (preferably cold).
Step3: Add the cocoa, vanilla sugar and confectioners sugar one at a time.
Step4: Make sure that there are no lumps in the mixture.
When the cake has cooled spread the topping on top in an even layer and then sprinkle coconut flakes on top. Put the cake in the fridge for about five to ten minutes. Then remove it from the baking paper and cut it into portion sized pieces and then you can serve it!
