Zara never disappoints.

Zara is definitely one of my favorite stores when it comes to clothes and shoes. It's not to expensive and I love that there is such a different range of things and that they always have a few different collections going on at once. The quality is ok, some times I wish the clothes would have lasted a bit longer then they did but some of my favorite pieces are from Zara. I've always loved the shoes that they sell there and all these shoes are available at Zara right now and I want ..all ..of ..them!

Hello, my name is Sofia!

The other day I realized that I've been blogging for over a year and most of you don't know a lot about me. You sit here and read my blog posts but don't really know anything about the person writing them.
Obviously you know that I'm a girl who loves to bake and who likes to get creative, but that's about it. I drop hints about myself in my blog posts but I figured that it was about time did a little post with a few facts about myself so that you could get to know me a bit better.

1. I'm a night owl. I can easily stay up till five in the morning if I don't make myself go to sleep earlier and if I don't set an alarm in the morning I most likely won't wake up until the early afternoon. It doesn't matter if I went to sleep 10pm the night before, if I don't set an alarm I can sleep till 2pm.

2. I have two half-sisters that are a lot older then me. They both have kids, steady jobs and I'm just here trying to figure out what to do with my life. One of them actually has a blog
We all sing, we all paint and we're all very, very different! If you saw us together you wouldn't think that we were sisters.

3. I have three passports.. Swedish, German and Luxembourgish.
Born in Sweden, grew up in Luxembourg and my mother became a citizen when I was still 17 so because Iwas a minor I became a citizen too. I have the German one because my father is German and therefore wanted me to have one too.

4. I have a mild form of dyslexia. So if there are any mistakes when I write that's why. Once I was supposed to write tabasco in my blog post, the spell check changed it to tobacco and I didn't notice at all. Then I read thru the post about two or three times, still didn't notice. A friend of mine actually had to ask me if there was supposed to be tobacco in the dish I was making for me to notice that something I was wrong.

5. I love to sing. I actually participated in all the school musicals that I could be in at my school (5 in total). I was in a band the last two years of high school and I sing.. All the time..

6. I hate road trips. I wish that I loved them because I have so many friends that come up with the idea to do a road trip but driving back and forth between Luxembourg and Sweden with my parents my whole childhood totally ruined it for me

7. I live in a dorm together with 15 other people (thankfully I have my own bathroom).
I love living in a dorm, it is so much fun! I love to be able to go into the kitchen and know that there is always someone to talk to while you eat. When I lived at home it was just my parents and me so I love being around so many people my own age!

This is written on our living room wall, It says ''Six south''. We live on the sixth floor that is pointed south that's why it's called that.

8. I'm born in Sweden but when I was two my parents moved to Luxembourg because my mother got a job there. I moved back to Sweden when I graduated high school (so when I was 19). I want to be able to say that I know what it's like to live in Sweden since I didn't grow up here so that's why I moved back.

9. I love going to partys as much as anyone else but I can easily stay in with a good movie while all my friends go out!

10. I got my love for baking from watching the Cake Boss and cupcake wars! I just loved the pretty cakes and  delicious things and thought ''I could learn how to bake'', and so I did.

Chocolate bowl

I just love these, they make a normal dessert like a fruit cup or ice cream so much more fun and special! They take a while to make but my guests at a dinner that I organized were really impressed and loved the idea!

What you need for ten bowls:
400g chocolate
ten balloons
baking paper

How you make them:
Step1: Melt the chocolate
Step2: Blow up the balloons to a fitting size.
Step3: place the baking paper on a big tray or baking pan so that you can easily move them from your counter to your fridge or freezer.
Step4: spread out a bit of chocolate on the baking paper. Just a round little circle that is about 4-5cm in diameter. You do this so that the balloon has a flat surface to stand on when it has solidified.
Step5: Dip a balloon in the chocolate and place it on top of the chocolate circle so that it stands up. Do the same thing with all your balloons.
Step6: Place the tray with your balloons on it in the freezer, fridge or maybe on your balcony if its really cold outside so that the chocolate becomes solid.
Step7: Dip them in the chocolate again so that the chocolate layer becomes thicker and doesn't break as easy and let it solidify again.
Step8: Cut a little hole in the balloon so that the air can escape.
Step9: Carefully start peeling the balloon away from the chocolate and then you have a chocolate bowl that you can fill with something delicious. I Served this

Colorful cookies for spring

Today I made my Chocolate covered butter cookies  but instead of just sprinkling the chocolate over the cookies like I did in the original recipe I dipped the cookies in the chocolate and sprinkled some colorful sprinkles over the chocolate covered part.

Sunday afternoon

Just taking a little break from studying by sitting down and planning next week. Two meetings, two dinners, lectures, seminars, a dorm party a housewarming party and an exam on top of all of that.
I always try do plan my weeks and to divide my time well, does it mean that I succeed? Absolutely not. I usually just end up doing everything last minute anyway.

Floating balloons

I am a sucker for balloons. I love them. I think that they're so much fun, they're pretty and they're just such a simple party accessory. When I celebrated New Years in New York in 2008 we went to a restaurant that had covered the ceiling with helium filled balloons and I was just blown away!
Since then I've used this trick for my birthday party every year, you don't need any helium just household items and I think it looks great!
A friend of mine actually asked me how I got the balloons to stay in the same position the entire time.

If you want to know how to make the frame click here

What you need:
Balloons
tape
sewing string (In a color that resembles the color you have on your walls).
(gift wrapping ribbon)

How you make them:
Step1: Blow up your balloons.
Step2: Tie the gift wrapping ribbon to the balloon if you want to, you can also do it without the ribbon.
Step3: cut a piece of sewing string that is a good length.
Step4: Tape one end of the string to the top of the balloon and the other end of the string to the ceiling.

Tadaa!!

Favorite beauty products

So I've been thinking about making a post like this for a while and today I figured that it was about time. I love these products and I figured that if I love them it doesn't hurt to tell you about them so that you might fall in love with them too :)
So, these are some of my favorite products that I use every day and that I can't get enough of.

Please don't make me choose one of them, it's too hard. I've loved the Daisy perfumes since the beginning. They're all so fresh but I would say that the gold one is the one that you can wear all year around, the pink one is more girly and summery and the light pink one is more classy.

I've always had a really hard time finding hairspray that will actually work on my hair. Normally it looks great in the beginning but after just a few minutes my hair just looks just like it did before I used the hairspray. This one I actually really like, I've read a bunch of bad reviews about it but it really works for me, and it doesn't hurt that it smells amazing too ;)

Me? Addicted? Absolutely! The EOS-hype might be over but I am still in love with these lip balms and I just can't get enough of them! Out of all of them my favorite is probably the Pomegranate Raspberry flavored one.

I bought this elf pallet when i was in New York, I use almost every day (i don't use eueshadow every day..). It stays on very long, I love the color scheme, the colors are really easy to blend and it was really affordable!

I picked up these brushes at a Rite Aid in Los Angeles as a last minute thing (actually right before I went to the airport to go back home) and boy am I glad I did!
These Rite Aid Renewal brushes were really cheap so I didn't really think twice about buying them. Going from the front to the back, these are the duo-fiber blending brush, the eye shadow brush and the smudger brush. They're all really soft, they all blend really well and are really easy to use! If you're looking for something that is a bit cheaper but is still really good quality and is really easy to use I would definitely recommend these!

Smoothie obsession.

Right now I am in the middle of a smoothie craze and I know that it's going to be over soon and it
sucks because they are so nutritious and delicious! But I'm like that with everything, I love a product, fruit or meal for about a week or two and then I basically get tired of it and forget about it.
The reason why my smoothies are always pink is because I always have raspberries in them!

This one is made out of:
a banana
a kiwi
raspberries
lingonberries
vanilla yoghurt

Yeah i wouldn't save this smoothie until 05.12.2016..

I am in love with this straw! Perfect for valentines day!

You've got mail.

My father just went back to Denver two weeks ago and asked if I wanted something. I said ''If you can find some different EOS lip balms in a few different colors that wouldn't be so bad''. Man was I happy when I opened this box! He also sent me some photos and a Broncos t-shirt (yes, he left right before the Super Bowl so little did he know that they were going to loose 43 to 8)…

Sometimes I get surprised about how happy I can get about something so simple as a few straws that I ordered online a few weeks ago arriving in the mail.

The pink and yellow one

A smoothie really is the perfect way to start the day! I wish that I was able to say that this is something I do every day, but it really isn't. I'm more of a ''I can sleep for another ten minutes or I can have breakfast.. hmm.. I'll sleep.'' kind of person. But every time I do have breakfast or just a smoothie it really helps you throughout the rest of the day and you get so much energy from it!

Why do I call this one ''The pink and yellow one''? Well because I only used pink and yellow fruits. It doesn't get more simple than that.

What you need:
2dl frozen raspberries
One Banana
a few drops of lemon juice
1 dl frozen mango
0,5 dl milk

Mix mix mix!

Cookies as a gift!

I think it's a nice little gift, or just a lovely gesture to give someone something homemade. These are my Chocolate chip cookies that I made today for my friend who celebrated her birthday with a little get together. It's a little unexpected because not a lot of people do things like this anymore. It's so much easier to just buy a bottle of wine, a box of chocolates or some flowers then to actually make something, so people really appreciate it!

Ice cream is underrated!

Well at least for people like me, I always try to find new exciting desserts to make and cakes and cookies to bake so I had forgotten how amazing it was to just curl up in bed with a good movie and a bowl of ice cream!
Even though I love making nice desserts that usually takes some time to make it was nice to just serve ice cream when I had a bunch of girl friends over for dinner last Wednesday.

This is ''just'' vanilla Ice cream topped with bananas, chocolate, meringue and chocolate sauce. Of course I had to make it a bit more ''special'' when i served it to my friends so I made bowls out of chocolate instead of having the chocolate in the ice cream. I'll show you how to make them next week!
